BarbaraAnn is an accomplished PSA Master Rated figure skating coach, ballet instructor, writer, and artist with a BA degree from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. She is the mother of four sons, a stepdaughter and a stepson.

With material gleaned from coaching test and competitive figure skaters and from raising her children, BarbarAnn created years of whimsical holiday and birthday cards for family and friends. In 2002, her artistic interests and talents, always evolving, led her into designing heirloom-quality 14-Karat jewelry for collectors and skating enthusiasts. As she was about to market her jewelry designs, BarbarAnn was diagnosed with breast cancer. This presented new life challenges.

During treatment and recovery, BarbarAnn turned her energy to her art. For fun she drew skating lambs doing spirals, falling down, learning to skate, jumping and spinning. Next a realistic storyline slowly unfolded. Finally, the book, The Champion Behind the Champion, and the adorable plush skating doll character, LambieAnn, were born.
